Welcome back, Verta!
OIT has begun the process of obtaining borrowed OIT equipment. All equipment returns will be conducted using the locker system, located on the second floor of the Gateway Parking Garage.
If you have a device that needs to be returned, please contact the OIT Help Desk through email, chat, or by calling 719-255-3536. The OIT Help Desk will need the name of the device and/or the serial number. After the OIT Help Desk receives the request, you will be sent a follow-up email that details when to return the equipment, what locker to return the equipment to, and instructions for gaining access to the locker.
Please note that the return days will be on Monday and Thursday of each week. Additionally, others may be in the area returning equipment at the same time; we ask that you be respectful and maintain social distancing practices.
The OIT Help Desk continues to conduct equipment checkouts, but can only accept requests through the request form.
Earlier this week, the Office365 (O365) Working Group met for the first time. This internal-to-OIT group will share the responsibility of offering a robust O365 service to campus.
Some of the items this group will oversee and collaborate on are:
Communication of changes to O365 by Microsoft, internal changes, and communication to campus as appropriate
Need for O365 feature change decisions
Security, SharePoint, Telephony, Teams, Azure, and other distributed work discussions
Management of the test tenant
Over the last ninety days, O365 has seen a substantial increase in use, with over 28.7M emails sent and received, 1M Teams chat and channel messages, and 23.3TB used in OneDrive. The growth of these and other O365 offerings are shown via the image to the left. This group will share the workload and rely on each other’s expertise to provide an all-encompassing service to the UCCS community.
The group consists of team members from User Services, Applications Development and Support, Security, and Operations. Their names are found below.
