Before returning to Campus

Before you return to on-campus work, the mandatory training of "CU: COVID-19 Return to Campus-UCCS"  must be completed.

Maintenance Emails

All maintenance emails, sent from the UCCS OIT Help Desk, will now direct readers to uccs.info. No further information will be provided within the email body. Effective September 1, 2020, the UCCS OIT Help Desk will no longer send maintenance emails, in an effort to reduce the email campus receives.

BenefitHub

Are you signed up for BenefitHub? This website is for Colorado state employees and offers discounts, reward programs, and other related benefit links.

Over the last several weeks, the information technology industry has been pushing to change industry-specific words that are either racist or at risk of being perceived as racist. UCCS OIT has been closely working with several vendors to identify and change any words that are not inclusive. Once the complete set of words has been identified and changed, more information will be sent. To leave feedback, please submit to uccs.io/oitfeedback.

We all have data, but what do you do with it once it’s collected? Not sure how to turn it into actionable information that can help move your department forward?

Join the Office of Information Technology’s Business Intelligence Team for Bytes, as they show you how your data can be turned into informative and usable insights. This hour-long session on July 7 will showcase some of the more popular information collected to date such as computer lab usage, student success metrics, and WiFi, allow for questions, and provide the next steps on how to work with the Business Intelligence Team.

Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate during the session from 2-3 p.m. in the Bytes Team channel.

Office Space - no, not the place for smashing printers, keyboards, or computers. Rather a space providing need-to-know updates about Office 365.

  • Microsoft Teams updates for Fall semester
    • 7x7 video viewing (that's 49 people on the screen!)
    • Breakout rooms for classroom Teams
    • Waiting lobby for students until the instructors start the meeting
    • Easy upload custom backgrounds
  • Increase from 15 GB to 100 GB for a maximum single file size for OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online.
    • For the best performance, it is recommended to upload very large files by using the OneDrive desktop client.
  • The Planner app in Teams will become the Tasks app
    • Existing Planner tabs will behave the same as they do today but will show an additional list view. Users will be able to add new Tasks tabs to the channels in teams they belong to. Users can also access the Tasks app in the same ways they previously accessed the Planner app.

Don't be the only one to Excel at Office 365- tell your colleagues to subscribe to our newsletter so they too can have a positive Outlook!
