Earlier this year, under Kevin Wolf's leadership, OIT began holding its inaugural OIT Leadership Cohort. The cohort was designed to expose cohort members to leadership parables regularly. The cohort is meant to challenge these emerging leaders and take them out of their comfort zone. This is accomplished by providing leadership foundational concepts, leadership exercise, individual projects facilitated by the other cohort members, and a pathway to lead and mentor during the next cohort. The OIT Leadership Cohort is currently three months into their progress, and the six members have begun planning their projects which are all meant to benefit the campus or the Colorado Springs community.
The projects that have been chosen are:
- CU Leadership exchange program
- Professional photography for local animal shelters
- A field day in partnership with the Special Olympics
- A fly fishing introduction and excursion program
- Scholarship fund provided by a local artist exhibition and fundraiser
- A computer exchange program for underprivileged high school students entering higher education.
Keep an eye out for these events to support OIT emerging leaders!
