Department Printing


Department Printing

Departmental printing on campus allows faculty/staff/employees of the University to print through their department-owned printers on campus. Most department printers are network printers which allow anyone in the department to print from their University computer to the network printer. These network printers are bought by the department (along with supplies such as paper and toner), configured by IT, and serviced by their respective brand's customer service technicians (from Xerox or Konica Minolta).

If you are unsure if your department has a department printer, please contact your department's administrative assistant. If you need to setup a new networked departmental printer, you will need to fill out a Copier/Printer Request form.If you would like to setup accounting codes or need to change existing ones on a network printer, you will need to contact your printer's customer service representatives (either Xerox or Konica Minolta) - the IT department is unable to set or change these codes for you.

  • What Do I Need To Get This Service?

    You will need to be an active faculty/staff/employee member within the department you would like to print in.

  • How Do I Get Started?

    Once your department orders a new network printer, the printer's respective customer service technicians will deliver the printer and do initial setup. Someone from the department (e.g. an administrative assistant) is required to be there while the printer is delivered and setup.

    If the printer has already been setup and configured by their service technicians, contact the OIT Service Desk and we can schedule a time to setup the printer on our network for use by the department.Once we setup the printer for our network use, it is ready to be installed on all of the department's computers. Contact the OIT Service Desk for install help.

  • How Much Does This Service Cost?

    Departmental printing is paid through your department. If you have any questions concerning the cost of printing through your department, please contact your department's administrative assistant.

  • How do I get the printer set up on my computer?

    Printer installs require for an administrator to be signed into the computer.

    To help speed up the installation process it is helpful to know the name of the printer as well as the make and model. The make and model should be displayed on the printer while the name should be one that was provided after completing the printer reservation. Tip, this name will look something like epc108-p where the first part is the office where the printer is located.
