Passwords
Your UCCS password, along with your UCCS username, is your key to many of our offered services. Forgot your password? Need to change your current password? Our self-service account management can be found at My UCCS Account. To encourage safe computing practices, we do have requirements for passwords that must be met.

Students:
- Expires a year after being set
- Must contain at least 12 characters in a passphrase format:
- At least 12 characters in length
- Use a passphrase that is easy to remember, for example: thankyouforattendingUCCS!
- You are not required to use special characters or mix upper and low case letters
Faculty, Staff, Retirees and POI's:
- Expires a year after being set
- Must contain at least 12 characters in a passphrase format:
- At least 12 characters in length

- You are not required to use special characters or mix upper and low case letters
Special Restrictions:
- It is recommended that the following symbols are not used * @ + # % & = : ; " ' ? / \ or a space
- The password may not contain your USERNAME, FIRST NAME, OR LASTNAME

Support for your account and password needs are available 24/7 at My UCCS Account.
Additional assistance is available during posted help desk hours, at the Columbine Computer Lab or at the IT Assistance Desk in the Kraemer Family Library during library hours.
You can change your password on your own using the Lost or Forgotten Password link available at My UCCS Account.
Please remember that this system will only work if you set up your account reclaim information while claiming your account or changing your password.
