In Teams, you can indicate your status through the following steps.
First, in the top right-hand corner, click the bubble that has your initials or profile picture.
This will prompt a drop-down menu.
Click on “Set status message”.
This will open a new window where you can indicate your status and it's duration. Think of it as an out of office reply.
Hit done and you are good to go. Although this step is optional, since we use Teams often, this will help our teammates and other coworkers know when you are unavailable.
Tip: You can also us the Teams status message for clearing your schedule for a couple hours. This might be helpful if you check Teams more infrequently throughout the day so you can focus.
Sample status message:
Thank you for messaging me. I am currently giving focused time to a project. I will be checking my Teams messages and missed calls later today. I look forward to connecting with you then. If you have immediate needs, please call me at 123-123-1234. Thanks!
