UCCS Chromebooks

A Chromebook is a laptop that runs Chrome OS, similar to a Windows or Mac laptop.  Chrome OS is a web-based operating system, meaning that a Chromebook will only run applications that are accessible in a web browser.  These Chromebooks are managed by UCCS OIT, therefore UCCS controls what applications are installed and can keep the Chromebook up-to-date even while checked-out.

  • How Do I Return My Chromebook?

    Students who do not have intentions of enrolling as a full-time student for summer or fall semester, or have withdrawn as a student, must return their Chromebook to the OIT Service Desk by the next semester's census date. All students who are no longer enrolled as a full time student will be charged for the value of their Chromebook to their student account through Student Financial Services.

    Students who are not enrolled in summer classes but plan to return to UCCS for the fall semester may keep their Chromebook over the summer.

    You may choose to deliver your Chromebook to the OIT Service Desk during regular business hours or by mail (at your expense).

  • Can I Return My Chromebook By Mail?

    We understand that many of the Chromebooks were shipped to our students, so we will accept them through mail returns as well. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of shipping and possible damages, so shipping insurance is encouraged.

    To Return: 

    Step 1: Please contact the OIT Service Desk via phone call or chat session.

    Step 2: We will complete the Chromebook Return form at that time, and then provide the Shipping Address to you.

    Step 3: Please ensure that your return information is provided on the package. This will allow us to track who has returned, as well as prevent possibly shipping issues.
